As a board-certified clinical psychologist, national trainer in evidence-based PTSD treatments, and co-founder of Oregon Veteran Surf Club, I fuse adventure with clinical mastery.
My journey launched at the United States Naval Academy, carried me into the crucible of war as a United States Marine Corps officer, and expanded through a master’s at Denver Seminary. I deepened my expertise at the University of Denver Graduate School of Professional Psychology, then immersed myself for 15 years at the Portland VA Healthcare System—pioneering research, innovating, and delivering clinical care focused on PTSD, loss, and Moral Injury.
Beyond the therapy room, I raced mountain bikes and competed in ultra-endurance bike packing races for a decade. Now, I surf or mountain bike whenever possible. If you thrive in these activities or in the wild, let’s partner with nature—therapy doesn’t have to stay indoors.
