U.S. Army Veteran

DJ Wright is a U.S. Army veteran, educator, and outdoor advocate whose post-military work centers on service, leadership, and community engagement. During his military career, he served as a Multichannel Transmission Systems Operator-Maintainer (25Q), building a strong foundation in tactical communications, teamwork, and operational reliability under pressure. Following his transition out of the military in 2022, he earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) and entered the field of education, all while seeking a meaningful way to direct the camaraderie, structure, and sense of mission that defined his active-duty service.

That search for continued purpose led him to Veterans for Public Lands, where he translates his military experience into wilderness advocacy and veteran engagement. Driven by a passion for protecting public lands, DJ uses outdoor stewardship and shared service to help fellow veterans rediscover meaning after military life. By bringing former service members together in the outdoors, he fosters environments built on shared hardship, mutual support, and public land conservation—creating space for veterans and their families to reconnect with nature and one another.

Beyond his work in the outdoors, DJ is a content creator behind WrightFamilyForever, sharing authentic stories about marriage, parenting, and personal growth alongside his professional work in education. A husband and father of three, he leverages storytelling, education, and community engagement to inspire veterans to find alignment and purpose after the uniform. Whether in the classroom, on public lands, or through community outreach, his vision remains focused on building opportunities that positively impact veterans, strengthen families, and protect shared natural resources.
