Gregg Bafundo grew up in a military family and served as a US Marine from 1989-1996. Deploying during Operation Desert Storm.
After his service Gregg went on to become a climbing guide where he led expeditions and explored high mountains around the world. Alaska, Bolivia and Europe were all places he sought adventure but he was always pulled back to his home mountains in Washington’s Cascades. He eventually became a Wilderness Ranger for the US Forest service where he protected and patrolled his favorite wilderness area for almost a decade. He has also worked as a wildland firefighter, Resource Advisor and Forest Protection Officer for the Forest Service.
After taking a promotion he fell in the crosshairs of DOGE but vowed to continue to protect our shared public lands. Gregg has a long background of non-profit advocacy and has played a fundamental role in building organizations dedicated to protecting our lands. The oath Gregg swore to as a Marine and Ranger were the same. It is an oath he still holds.
